data acquisation

Hi,

Iam very new to lab view, iam trying to acquire  a signal through NI 9206 from function generator, the i/p signal from function generator is 5v pp, symmetric varying +2.5 to -2.5 with 10hz this i have connected to port 0 and 19 of NI9206 as conncection diagram suggested by the NI and configured as diferential signal and 1000 samples andrate1k ,  max  input limit volatges is 10 and -10v  and sampling clock internal is set. the ouput that i see in wavform generator, the amplitude max iam getting is only +0.025 and -0.052 and not symmetric. which is not replicating the input signal , can any one suggest the possible solutions and where iam wrong. waiting for the reply

Thanks inadvance

If you post your code, someone may be able to help you more. Are you using one of the example VI's or Express VI's to communicate with the NI 9206?

Hi Chinnu,

Thank you for using our discussion forums.

It sounds like you have done everything correct, so maybe we have to take a step back.  I am going to suggest simply using a Test Panel in Measurement and Automation Explorer.  To do this open Measurement and Automation Explorer (Start>>Programs>>National Instruments>>Measurement and Automation Explorer), expand Devices and Interfaces, DAQmx Devices, and then right click on your 9206 and select Test Panel.  Next ensure that you have the DAQ card wired are you described in your first post.  Leave the test panel in the default configuration, and press the start button.  If you are still reading an improper signal, let’s try another input.  Place the leads of your signal generator to terminals 2 and 20, and select ai1 in the Test Panel Channel Name.

If you are able to get a proper signal, then I would suggest posting the VI you are using to acquire the signal and we can have a look at it.  Also using the shipping examples is another good suggestion.  These examples can be found from the help menu in LabVIEW under Find Examples. The Acq&Graph Voltage-Int Clk.vi a simple VI you can use.
