daq assistant does not start

I've just re-installed LV 8.5 with device driver cd from first quarter 2008.  Now the daq assistand does not start.  I upgraded to daqmx 8.8 and still nothing.  It just plops a box on the diagram that says daq assistant.  I double click and nothing.  I try to open a vi that has a previously configured daq assistant, double click and..... nothing.

Any ideas?  How can I force it to re-install?

Hi

You have definitely tried the right steps, reinstalling LV and DAQmx driver.

Therefore, I would suggest its some sort of administrator setup on your machine - permissions settings.

Maybe have a look at this link: its a knowledge base on issues with DAQ assistant and Admin rights.

I can't view the link.  It says not authorized.

I do remember searching on something similar and it mentioned that you need administrator rights.  Well, I do.  I have "god-like" powers over this machine.
