cut and paste between tables

I have tables with up to 400 columns. I want to select different columns and cut these from the original table and paste it into a new table. When using the right mouse button commands cut and paste the actual contents of the new table is cleared and only the new column appears. All other data in the new table is cleared.

Not a problem.

Select your column of interest, right click, choose "Copy Data" and go to the other table, select the target column (you have to choose the exact number of rows or the data will be inserted, giving you blank rows.)

Hope this is what you were looking for.
