copy folder through ftp

Hello all,

For my application I have to copy a folder containing some configuration ini files. The folder is located on a RT PXI and the computer that send the "request" and receives the folder is a WinPXI.

1, is ftp the best way to copy files from a RT PXi to a WinPXI ?
2, if it is, what is/are the ftp command(s) to do that ?

Thank in advance for any help.

Maybe the RETR command could do the job, no ?

Thank you for this Chris, but what I'm trying to find is  a function that copies, not just a file (I know how to do this), but a folder with many sub-folders and file inside.

If it exist, that's perfect. If it does not, then I'll have to develop it myself by getting the "tree" of my main folder and copying every last folder and file to the target direction.

hi there

hm, just a suggestion: whenever your RT-App creates a new file on your PXI you could write the list of files in your RT-folder in a file named "list.txt". then you get this file with ftp to your PC and fetch all files listed in list.txt inside a for loop using datasocket (i'm using datasocket - functions instead of ftp-system calls because they return error codes).
