convert hex string to number

Solved!
Go to solution

this should be easy, but I can't seem to get it. I want to convert a hex number in string format such as 044A into a number that comes out on my calculator as 1410. The hex to number vi in the string pallete gives me a big fat 0.

 I hope the snippet helps.

Turn off 'Hex Display' on the string and try again.

Hex 044A is equal to decimal 1098 and if you have a string set to normal display and use the Hex String to Number function, you will get 1098 out.  Decimal 1410 is equal to hex 0582.
