convert from version 5 to version 8.5

I am trying to convert a V5 vi to V8.5 vi. Need help. Thanks.

At LabVIEW 6 NI changed the report generation libraries.  The older calls passed a copy of the document between VIs.  The newer calls pass a reference to the document beween VIs.  If the program you're trying to convert uses report generation, you will have to rewrite / rewire those calls.  There are other changes of courxe, but the compiler deals with most of those, I think.

With 8.5, you cannot directly open 5.x VIs at all. You need to first convert to 6.x, 7.x, or 8.0/8.2. See the recent post here.

I have an instrument driver that was written in version 5.0.  I need to convert to version 8.5.  If what I see is correct 8.2 should open and convert.
