convert a string into individual binary bits

i need some basic help, a string data comes from microcontroller to labview , String consist 8 bytes"11110111" that represent logic state of a Port.

now i want to convert this string into 8 bits binary data and glow up 8 led's according to zeros and one's. any example chart for me to do this..

I do it my self but no sucess, LED's glow wrong

Use 'String to Byte Array' to get and array of 8 Ascii bytes.  These Ascii byte values will be either 48 (0) or 49 (1) Compare each element in the array to 49 to produce an array of boolean.
