Hello,
I'm trying to connect a digital displacement meter (Mitutoyo) to my pc directly through an usb connection.
It is the intention to read the data of it in labview and store it in a file, but i have a problem with the connection.
It's the first time that i'm doing something like that so i'm following this tutorial of NI: http://www.ni.com/gettingstarted/setuphardware/instrumentcontrol/usbconnect.htm
I'm already stuck in the first part: I can't see the usb device. Under devices and interfaces i only see the words netwerk devices and serial and parallel, but no usb devices that i can unfold.
Does anyone has a solution for this?
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
Jelle

Is this device (digital displacement meter) supported by LabVIEW, is there any driver available??
Go through this web-cast.
http://zone.ni.com/wv/app/doc/p/id/wv-1649/ and then this http://zone.ni.com/wv/app/doc/p/id/wv-1668
You should also check, whether the installation of device is successful in your computer.. this can be done using the 'Device Manager' (Right click 'My Computer' and select 'Manage', next you can select 'Device Manager' from the options at left).

Hello,
NI-VISA supports two modes for USB communication: USBTMC and RAW mode. This article gives some information on the VISA USB RAW mode
How Can I Communicate With a Device Using NI-VISA USB RAW Mode?
