compiling a vi

I was wondering if anyone would be able to describe to me how I would compile my program. I understand that it will increase the speed of my vi.
Thanks, Ivanka

Every time you run a VI it is a compiled VI that you are running. If you have the professional version of LabVIEW or buy the app builder separately, you can create an exe file that will run without the LabVIEW development system. A built program will have some minor speed improvements. You can test some of those yourself without building it. You can save a version without diagrams (make sure you don't overwrite your existing VIs). You can also go to VI Properties>Execution and uncheck the Allow Debugging option. If you have performance issues, you'd be best off reviewing the shipping document called LabVIEW Performance and Memory Management. Enhancements need to start with recomendations found in here and not in creating an executable.

Hi,
All you have to do to save with out diagrams,is in the file menu go to SAVE WITH OPTIONS and just chose custom save and choose remove diagrams, this will solve your problem of saving with out diagrams

Vicky told you how to dit but let me say that you should make a backup of all your working VIs first because if you accidently replace a working VI with one without a diagram, you can NEVER recover that diagram. I'll be surprised if you see much of a performance improvement but let us know the results.
