Did you mean:

code calls Word, exe doesn't

Solved!
Go to solution

ok, the error that is returned for the exe is: Error 7 occurred at Get LV Class Default Value.vi, and the call chain is: Get LV Class Default Value.vi > NI_reportlvclass: New Report.vi

in my project explorer, I found this under Dependencies > vi.lib >

does this need to be elsewhere in the project or explicitly included somehow?

Can you remove the _Word Dynamic VIs.vi and _Excel Dynamic VIs.vi from your project, and instead include NI_Word.lvclass and NI_Excel.lvclass in your project, and specify those .lvclasses as "Always Included" in your build?  Let me know if that helps.

The problem is that when you're running as an EXE, you're adding a 'data' folder to the path to the excel file that you're passing to the Report Gen VIs.  This is happening in your AutoSelPath.vi.  Since you're getting the path from a file dialog, you should just use the value you get from the dialog directly, as opposed to trying to manipulate it in your code.

Did you add NI_Excel.lvclass to the project, and then include it in your EXE build as an "Always Included" file?  As has been mentioned in previous threads, you must do this to get your built EXE to run correctly.
