can LabVIEW use 1394

I need to use firewire to operate a camcorder
I want to use LabVIEW

is it possible?

Hui Chen,

LabVIEW can certainly call into a 1394 driver. You would use a Call Library Function Node.
Also, since you are working with a camcorder, you may want to look into National Instruments' line of IMAQ equipment.

must use some 1394 card already installed in my computer.

camcorder through a 1394 card. Would you please give me some instruction?

have a look at the NI-IMAQ for 1394 API, (compatible with 1394 OHCI boards).

2 year past,

LabVIEW can support 1394/Firewire/Ilink Camera
very well now(even 1.8 years ago).
