Hui Chen,

LabVIEW can certainly call into a 1394 driver. You would use a Call Library Function Node.
Also, since you are working with a camcorder, you may want to look into National Instruments' line of IMAQ equipment.

Randy

I know there are several IMAQ hardware from NI, but my problem is that I
must use some 1394 card already installed in my computer.

Thank you

Because I can not find some document from NI, that how to interact with
camcorder through a 1394 card. Would you please give me some instruction?

yours
Hui

Hui Chen,

have a look at the NI-IMAQ for 1394 API, (compatible with 1394 OHCI boards).

2 year past,

LabVIEW can support 1394/Firewire/Ilink Camera
very well now(even 1.8 years ago).
