Hi,

I want to control several motors, recieve samples from few sensors and do additional calculations in LabView program that runs on some small notebook (through 6008 NI usb card). I tought about something like ASUS Eee (intel M 900Mhz, 1GB RAM) or another similar notebook with size 7-9 inch.

The question is if its ok to run LabView development software on this computer? Is it fast anough?

Do someone have expirience of using LabView on ASUS Eee?

The alternative could be to program my application on another desktop and to make .exe file that could run on ASUS Eee. I think in this case there shouldn't be any problems with the speed of the calculations on this notebook. Do I need some drivers to use 6008 usb card on notebook without LabView development software (by running .exe file only)?

Hi Sgr,

This computer just meets the minimum specs in terms of speed but has not been officially tested. It would not give me great confidence if I had to control motors under a non-deterministic OS like Windows with

a device that doesn't support hardware -timed generation.

If you decide to build an .exe you will need the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine and  to reduce memory requirements you can use a stripped down version of the DAQmx Run-Time.
