assign name to numeric data

This question probably has been ask before but I can not find a solution because I might not me wording it right:

How may I assign a name to a numeric data (contol/indicator (orange wire)) so it can be save when I am using write to mesaurment file.

I tried converting it to a waveform-dynamic data and setting attributes but it din't work...

Converting to a waveform and setting the attribute is the correct method so if you tried it and it did not work, then perhaps you did it incorrectly. The correct attribute is NI_ChannelName. If that is what you are using, post your code so someone can look at it.
