arbitrary waveform

Solved!

Hi everybody

I'm using Modulation Toolkin to do my thesis, specifically I'm working with the NI RFSG driver. The VI called "niRFSG Configure Generation Mode.vi" needs to fix a option (the generation mode). We can choose between a CW, arbitrary waveform and a script. Well, I have to use the arbitrary waveform option but I don't understand very well but it means. What kind of waveform is being generated? Where could I find more information about that?

Thanks.

Hi kantabra

When using the Arbitrary waveform method, you need to define the IQ data yourself which is being generated. I suggest you take a look at the example which comes with the NI RFSG driver. You can find it through Help - Find Examples - Hardware IO - Modular Instruments - NI-RFSG - Arbitrary Waveform Generation - RFSG Arbitrary Waveform Generation.vi

This example shows how to use this method with your Signal generator.
