Where can I find some application code ( VI for labview 7.1 ) for a

The USB-6008 works with DAQmx. If you search the example finder (Help>>Find Examples) for either "DAQmx" or "USB", you should probably find some examples.

In any case, the USB-6008 only serves as an I/O device. You can not program it. If you want a controller which you can program with LV you need FieldPoint, which is a programmable automation controller (PAC) and is significantly more expensive.
