aliasing Controls on front panel

My question is simply, can i hav two controls/indicators in front panel for a single terminal in diagram . i think it is similar in a way wht our traditional text based languages hav "alias of a variable".

Here r the detail abt my specific problem..
I hav a control and its value is changing several timesand from different different places in program, ok now i hav to introduce an indicator on the same front panel whose function is to display the same value which the later contol hav.

The crude way is to reassign the value to indicator everytime when contol is getting new value which requires to wire this indiacator every where the contols value is changing.

Hi,
I think in LV is not "alias of a variable",
but you can try this (vi is in LV7.0) - connect more Controls to one indicator in Event Structure

This is exactly what globals are about! You can use the regular globals, or teh shift-register based "Functional" or "LV2" style globals.

Hello,

If you would like to create an alias there are a couple of different options. You can use property nodes, global/local variables, LV2 type variables. The most efficient are property nodes, however, they can only be used within the same vi. If you need to get values from different vis you will need to use global variables. There is information on the DevZone for using property nodes and variables. Have a great day.
