Getting ActiveX to work in Windows 10 is often difficult.
With Thorlabs there's an alternate solution. Instead of using MG17/APT with ActiveX, you can use Kinesis with .NET controls.
Now, the Kinesis DLLs have their own set of issues (mostly annoying dependency trees of other DLLs), but they do at least work just fine in Windows 10.
