XMODEM Serial Protocal

I need to be able to read data files from a Fluke Hydra Data Bucket in XMODEM serial protocal with Labview (currently I have version 6.1).  I had this working on a Windows98 computer with a third party program running, but the third party program won't run on WinXP.

How do I get Labview to do XMODEM on a WinXP computer? Does the newer versions of Labview handle XMODEM better? I'm hoping to  upgrade my Labview to the latest version in the very near future.  Knowing it works better with XMODEM would be beneficial for it would speed up the approval on the upgrade.

I saw that there were already topics on this forum about XMODEM, but they were all quite old, so I'm hoping XMODEM is better supported today.

There are no built-in VIs to do XMODEM in LabVIEW. You will need to get a third-part ActiveX control or something similar. You can check the list of Alliance members to see if anyone makes one, or Google. Sorry.

Aarrghh! I completely forgot about that library from OpenG, and I often cite OpenG libraries in posts. Well, in my defense, it's a pretty old library (6.1), but since the poster has 6.1 it should fit just right.

I have a similar problem like yours:
I work with the hydra databucket 2635A and I have to use the file_tx instruction for getting the data(files) from the memory card. I was able to use the log_bin instruction. I got the correct data, but if I use file_tx I just receive some \18...\b.

What I cannot get is, that both instructions are xmodem-transfers, but the file_tx does not provide data.

How did you solve this problem?

I could not download the last link with the VISA-vis.
