It's possible to write a textfile from a network computer to another network computer via labview without using FTP?

Hi bebo_lm,

it depends on how they are connected. If you have "normal" access to the pc and you can write to a hard drive of the other pc, then you can use the write to file functions or copy file. If they are not connected like this, then you need another service. Why don't you like to use FTP?

Just Another Question.

I'm trying what is attached and in both tries the following error comes out:

"Error 7 occurred at Copy in Untitled 1"

LabVIEW:  File not found. The file might have been moved or deleted, or the file path might be incorrectly formatted for the operating system. For example, use \ as path separators on Windows, : on Mac OS X, and / on Linux. Verify that the path is correct using the command prompt or file explorer.

I'm using:

\\networkNameForComputer\c\files\TextFile.txt

for the target directory

and

C:\files\textFile.txt

as source path

Why this error comes out?

Do my computers need a specified protocol for the file copy?

Thanks in advance!

Are you sure you have user rights to right files to the other computer?

If you have a Windows Explorer window of each directory open (your PC and the networked PC), can you copy from one to the other without error?

My networked computer was password protected.

Thanks!
