Write Characters To File.vi only writes once a second?

Just adjust your measurement parameters.

time = scans_to_read_at_a_time / scan_rate

If
scan_rate = 1000 samples/sec
scans_to_read_at_a_time = 1000 samples
=> it takes 1 sec to measure all (1000) samples.

SPEED UP x10
scan_rate = 1000 samples/sec
scans_to_read_at_a_time = 100 samples
=> it takes 0.1 sec to measure all (100) samples.

I have noticed that writing to disk takes some good amount of time, though 1
second does seem extreme. When using the excel toolkit if I have a 2nd
write right after the first then I have to put a 1/2 second wait in between
or else I get an error. It may be that Write characters to file does the
wait automatically.
