Why does the Automation Open node return a 'No such interface' error?

I'm trying to instantiate an ActiveX object in LabVIEW, and I'm getting a 'No such interface' error (code -2147467262). The interface is simply the 'IVI Configuration Store' from IVIConfigStore.DLL, which must contain this interface, as it is known to have worked in the past. The DLL is in the correct location and is registered properly on my system. Any ideas?

This error is related to a Microsoft issue rather than to LabVIEW. The "Microsoft Support" link below tells of the specific problem causing DLL, and the workaround for it. It should be noted that this problem, according to the same document, should not occur on Windows 2000. Another workaround that is not mentioned in the document linked above is to install Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, which can be found at the "Microsoft Download" link below.
Microsoft Support: PRB: System Error "No Such Interface Supported" (Q183370)

Microsoft Download: Internet Explorer 6

Hello, Zvezdana S. Thank you for your answer. I have already tried unregistering and re-registering IVIConfigStore.DLL, the file in question. Is this what you were suggesting, or did you mean that I should also try comparing versions of comcat.dll?

I already have IE6 installed; is there something specific to IE6 SP1 that fixes this issue?
