Why am I still in Evaluation mode, even after volume license is installed?

Hi guys,

I installed LV 2011 in evaluation mode and then added volume license. License Manager shows the volume license is active and permission request is allowed. So according to LM, it is all set. Yet, when I load LV, it's still in evaluation mode and shows how many days remain.

When I removed local license files in Program Files\Shared\License Manager, the License Status shows "No license files found" and doesn't proceed.

This is strange, because all the other computers in my company were able to license without any troubles.

Please help me out of this. Thanks!!!

JK

Did you try forcing an activation? Click on the "Professional Development System", and there should be a button available to activate it.

Hi smercurio_fc,

The ones under Local Licenses should be ignored. I have those because I initially installed LV in evaluation mode. Once volume license is added, LV should recognize the volume license by accessing volume license server. I checked through Telnet that License Manager can talk to the license server. It seems LM recognize volume license through the server and local licenses in my computer. Yet, for some reason, LV does not recognize the volume license.

Any ideas are welcome. Thanks!!

Could it be a firewall issue? Are you LabVIEW products (LabVIEW, license manager, etc) allowed to access the network?

I always check "Do not show this dialog again" and figure I'll complain to our license manager when it becomes a problem.  It never does.

altenbach,

Thanks for your tip. I made sure all firewall is turned off and it is permitted to request license check to the license server.

jcarmody,

I checked the box for "Do not show this dialog again.". It only made the dialog disappear. Yet, LV is still in evaluation mode.

Right, but if I'm correct, it won't expire after 30 days.
