When using PenMount dvr, closing app END NOW error

When using FTP-1015 and Advantech PenMount software driver, in closing the app, I get an "END NOW" window and must press a key to

exit windows. During Real time operation the operator may not be around to touch the screen and clear the error.

Windows shows a tim out count down but does not shut down with the END NOW screen up.

Hi JoePi,

Are you seeing an actual error message, or is this the final screen on an installation or application?  How are you closing the app to get to the END NOW screen?  Is this screen preventing the FTP from shutting down properly?  What happens after the timeout countdown?

Sorry for all the questions, Joe.  Trying to get a better picture of what you're encountering.

Thanks for the response, I have already shut down all of LabVIEW 8.2 and am restarting Windows XP Pro.

The app that is not shutting down is the Penmount app that comes with the FTP-1510 Monitor from NI.

The app does not shut down, even when Windows puts up the "Closing Now" screen and times out. The app

stays loaded until either you click on the "End Now" tab, or if that has timed out you need to close it in the

Task Bar, lower right in XP.

I looked on vendors software site and did not find any references to this problem.

Hi JoePi,

Since it seems you need a physical click to exit out of the app, I'm thinking a work around may be worth a try.  What about utilizing a windows macro application that would end the app upon the dialog box popping up?  I was able to find a few macro software packages by googling.  Also, if the goal is to shutdown, there are also software utilities that force a shutdown that might be worth a try as well.

Thanks for the help, with the Windows "END NOW" close program dialog box problem.

I have contacted the software vendor and they suggested downloading and installing a new version

of the program for the "PMonitor.exe" application, this has fixed the problen and I no longer get

the "END NOW" dialog box when exiting Windows.

Reference : downloaded file is : "PenMount Windows Universal Driver V1.0.1020_AP  V1.0.0.8.zip" from the vendor.
