Want to disable Signal Express from running automatically but still control device in LabVIEW

When I plug in a KIKUSUI instrument into the USB connector, Signal Express starts up automatically on my PC. But I don't want this to happen! I want to control the instrument in LabVIEW. But the VISA resource for the KIKUSUI only appears in Labview (USB0::0x0B3E::0x1003::QA001923::INSTR) after Signal Express comes up. If I prevent Signal Express from coming up by disabling the USB Test and Measurement Devices Driver in the system control panel device driver, then I can't browse to the KIKUSUI instrument in LabVIEW. Can anyone help?

Ni Device Monitor will be your friend here.  WITH the device disconnected open NI Devmon and "clear all associations."  The next time you plug in the Device devmon will prompt you to choose an action select "take no action" and check the box for "Automatically do this every time."

Thanks Jeff. So far Devmon has not been friendly. With the device disconnected I right clicked on the Devmon tray icon and cleared all associations. But then, when I plugged in the Kikusui USB, the Signal Express started up again. Never saw any prompt for "take no action" or "Automatically do this every time." Tried re-booting, etc. Still no joy.

I was afraid of that. It has been a few years.... I will look through my old notes. try searching posts by me that contain kikusui
. my phone search is crappy

Devmon is a key. but the k driver setup rings a bell too.....
I will dig... but I assure you this has been solved before.

Problem solved. In order to install KI-VISA 5.0.7.261  64bit I had to uninstall NI-VISA 4.5.1 and then also uninstall NI-VISA Runtime 4.5.1. Both uninstalls took quite a while and removed quite a lot of stuff (for example, compact RIO) that I guess I haven't been using, but that were "dependent" on NI-VISA. Then I installed KI-VISA, which went very quickly. Now, everything works as it should. Plugging in the Kikusui USB does not trigger Signal Express. And my NI USB-6008 also still works. Hopefully, when I make an installer for my program, it will install successfully in a target machine!
