Voigt fits

Hi
Can anyone help me with curve fitting routines for spectroscopy? I want to
take my data from my laser system and get it to curve fit and calculate
concentrations of gases using Beer's Law and a Voigt expression.... at the
moment I think I'm not quite using the correct one! I've got a 2MHz NI
acquisition card so spectral resolution will not be a problem...
Thanks for any help

Daniel,
On my web site, you can find a VI that fits Gaussian peaks. It
shouldn't be too hard to generalize it to the Voigt profile. It is
constucted in such a way as to easily allow other functional forms to be
added. Also, one of the main tricks when fitting these peaks is to get
reasonable first guesses for the fit parameters,
to prevent the fit from
diverging. That is one of the main purposes of my program. You'll have
to adapt it somewhat for your specific peaks and the fit parameters you
use, but it should be possible.
If you get it to work, I'd be glad to hear from you.

Regards,
Dave
