Vista Front Panel Indicators

i have a problem when i install my stand alone application on my vista machine.
in windows xp the indicatiors line up as they should (refer to pics indicators under the heading PWM Output are the ones in question)
while on my Vista machine they do not line up and can not see one of the cells at the bottom of the array.
can anyone tell me why this is happening?

i developed my application on my windows xp machine and set the front panel to the smallest size that it will be view at. I do not resize or maintain proportions with resolution as i want the front panel to look the same on all machines it is used on.

Thanks Andrew

Hi Andrew,

It's a little difficult to tell from your screenshots.  Does it look like the fonts are actually the same on both machines?  I noticed that the text, particularly "Operation Temperature" and "Disable LPG Delivery", seem to be wider relative to the box decorations on the XP machine than on the Vista machine.  Do the fonts and font sizes appear to be changing?  If you are using a font that is available on your XP machine and not on the Vista machine, the program may choose a default font and that might cause the arrays to not line up correctly.

Are you able to move the source code to the Vista machine to see if this happens in the development environment as well?

The issue is that LabVIEW's application and dialog fonts are NOT the same between XP and Vista.  I believe the fonts themselves are different, and the font size is different.

Since you used these LabVIEW fonts, they are automatically changing based on which machine you're working on.  Go back to your application and change your controls and indicators to use a specific font at a specific font size.

I actually had the reverse problem when I started a project on Vista and had to move back to XP.

Hi yeah i know the fonts are not set to the same on vista and XP but even when i change the fonts still have the same problem.
dpi is set to the same on both machines and using normal size icons on both machines which is normally the cause for this type of problem but does not seem to help in this case.

as for moving the source code to the vista machine that not really what we want as we are using the vista machine to test the application and what errors faults come up with out the complete labview package on it.

Application font is a "LabVIEW" font, not a Windows font.  If you look in Word, you will see no font called Application.  I haven't done any testing to confirm that NI is choosing the font from the Windows Display Settings.  I am assuming when you say you are setting them the same, you mean you are setting them through the Windows Desktop Preferences?  If not, how are you setting them to be the same?

Yes changing the font through windows Appearance settings.

thats why i said application font in Labview.

from what i have read on the ni website this is set from the icon font in Windows. (which i change on both machines to be the same and still have the same problem with the difference between xp and Vista)
