Viewing VHDL when compile the PXI-7831R FPGA

Hi,

Is it possible to view the VHDL code that is generated when you compile the FPGA?

I am using the PXI-7831R if that makes any difference.

Thanks.

The last that I heard from NI the answer was no, the VHDL is all internal, between the LabVIEW environment and the Xilinx vhdl compiler.

LV_Pro is correct, you can't get to the VHDL at this time...HOWEVER, this is something that my company, and I'm sure many other customers, have been asking for. From my conversations with certain folk at N.I. it's obvious that they are very open to this kind of feedback and are trying hard to improve the product to meet customers needs.

I suspect that one reason that they haven't been forth coming about this (and they have been asked since its release a number of years ago) may be that there are proprietary issues on either the Xilinx or the LabVIEW or both sides.  It would be interesting to import the VHDL into one of the design environments to see how optimized the code it, and allow tweeking, but the primary target that they are marketing this to are non-VHDL pros.

That's changing. I see N.I. looking a lot harder at the hardware folks and their needs, not just LabVIEW software developers who don't have a clue about VHDL. I think that limitation as far as marketing is concerned is now obvious to N.I.
