Use pulse vi to trigger square wave

Hi all,

My data acquistion program involves triggering my soundcard using sinewave, at certain intervals, for certain time period with a certain time delay. all these factors (interval, time duration and time delay) has to be controlled during data acquistion as well. I tried to use a pulse signal to trigger the sine wave, so that i can get options to control time delay and duration but that didnt work. I heard about counters, but I am using M series 6229 board and i think that doesnt support counters.

I am very new to Labview and i appreciate any suggestions and help.

Thanks a lot
Tiffin.

Hello Tiffin,

All M Series Devices have 2 counters. You should definitely be able to program your counter application using the NI 6229. What are the details of your implementation? What do you mean that you are "triggering my soundcard using sinewave"? Are you attempting to generate a sine wave from the NI 6229?

I would recommend that you view a couple resources if you are new to programming DAQ in LabVIEW. First, you can check out a tutorial about "Using the DAQ Assistant" here, another about "Getting Started with NI-DAQmx Programming In LabVIEW" here and finally the "Getting Started with NI-DAQmx: Main Page" here.
