Uninstall LabView 7.1 on OS-X

Dear All,

I am new in the NI world. I have a Mac with OS-X on it. I also have LabView 7.1 and I am planning to upgrade it to 8.0. I have not found any info on how to remove the current installation and to install the new one. Can anybody help me to sole this. Sorry for the silly question but I did not know what to do about it.

Thank you in advance and look forward to hear from you.

Massimo.

Massimo,

No need to un-install. Jusst install the new version. It will install into a separate folder. You can even run both at the same time. Someone once had all major versions of LV running simultaneously on a Mac. You may have some minor issues with drivers, but since only DAQmx base is supported currently on the Mac, I don't think you will have much of a problem.

Dear Lynn,

thank you for the quick and detailed reply. What if I actually would like to uninstall it. I knew about the possibility to have both, but I did not want to have too much stuff that I don't need in my computer. However, I think that I will follow your suggestion for now.

Thank you very much again,
Massimo.

Massimo,

My LV7.1 folder in Applications >> National Instruments is about 270 MB. I would just drag that to the Trash. There are certainly other components in Library and System.Library, but they do not occupy much space and I would not worry about removing them.

The LV 7.1 Disk has an Unistall option. Run the installer and after accepting the license agreement, select Uninstall from the ring control (Default is Easy Install).
