Unicode Display (TabControl and Tree Menu)

Hello,

I am currently experiencing an issue in my application developed using LabVIEW 2024,

My project is configured as a multilingual application. However, when I convert strings to Unicode, I encounter a display problem in the TabControl and the Tree menu components. After the Unicode conversion, the text is replaced by blank spaces instead of displaying the expected values,

Could you please advise on the recommended solution to preserve the correct values and ensure proper Unicode character display in these controls?

Without attaching your VI*, no one will be able to help you.

Also, many people who could help you don't have newer versions of LabVIEW, so backsave it to LV 2020.

* The actual .vi file, not just a picture.

You can found Vi in 2016

Can you confirm you set the required line in your INI file?

UseUnicode = TRUE

It's mentioned in the page you linked to but you didn't specifically mention it.  Additionally, it needs to be set not only in the INI file for your LabVIEW.exe development environment, but also in the ".ini" file for any EXE files you build.  It won't be included by default, and each time you build it will be erased if you don't manually re-add it (or have a post-build VI that runs to add it).

I kind of remember looking into this before.

I believe that it's impossible to use Unicode in tab captions.

Using a BOM doesn't work, also there's no way to gain access to references to the text objects in the tab captions.

For trees, you can use UTF-16 LE with a BOM:
