I'm a little confused... It looks like you are trying to install LV 2010, not 2009, so there may be an issue with that.  Secondly, have you tried running the setup instead of the autorun?

Thanks,

Sean

I am having the same exact problem, did you ever find a solution to this error?

-What is your setup (LV version, computer, where are you installing LV from)?

-You are seeing the same exact same error?

-Are you able to answer any of the questions posed by the other posters?

Thanks,

Sean

I have tried installing on two computers:

Desktop:                                                                Laptop

XP Professional V.2002, SP3                                   XP Professional V.2002, SP3

Intel Pentium IV CPU 2.8GHz, 1 GB RAM                1.6GHz, 1.24 GB RAM

Presumably they are 32-bit because of XP.

The LabVIEW is 2009, 3rd Quarter; but I have also tried 2009 4th Q and 2010 DS1 on the laptop, with the same resulting error. All of the above LV programs were being installed from disc.

I have tried with the antivirus on and off, I have admin rights, and I have tried from autorun and setup.

A screen shot of the error is included.

Thanks,

RC

hi rcur,

did you copy that system information from your System folder? If not please follow these instructions to find the bit version of both the OSs on these computers, and post screenshots from both so we can see which bit version you have:

  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. Type sysdm.cpl, and then click OK.
  3. Click the General tab. The operating system is displayed as follows:
    • For a 64-bit version operating system: Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Version < Year> appears under System.
    • For a 32-bit version operating system: Windows XP Professional Version<Year> appears under System.
    • you also need to make sure there are no other anti-virus software instances running (check with your IT department to make sure that, if multiple shields were added, you have all of them disabled), because other instances of this error have been the result of antivirus software.

I get this same error, but with installing the Device Drivers for LabVIEW 2013. After the error comes up and is dismissed the Device Drivers installation just loops forever on "Currently executing Run 64-bit Make Resource Cache for LV FPGA Target Plugins".

Ease,

This post is almost 3 years old.

There doesn't seem to be any information on that message. Common things where "Unknown Error" occurs are things like anti-virus software, corrupted source files for the installation, and there may be something regarding the 64 bit part. Please include details on what exactly you're attempting to install.
