That would be an interesting exercise, but if you read the coding challenge they are allowing calling external code, and basically state to concentrate on the user interface. Not exactly the same as the other challenges but ...

Actually, if you read to the very bottom of the coding challenge description (http:www.ni.com/devzone/lvzone/codingchallenge.htm) you'll find that calling external code is prohibited...

I think LV_Pro was talking about the MP3 challenge. The note you cite reads

"
No external code, DLLs, CINs, exes, etc (Except for LabVIEW MP3 Player which may call external audio applications)
"
The MP3 challenge is special.
