A picture does not help solve the problem. Can you attach the typedef instead?

Some wild guesses:

  • Trying to edit the front panel instance instead of the typedef
  • typedef is reserved in an already running other VI
  • etc.

  • trying to edit a cluster type def that's inside a cluster type def

the picture looks like what I saw as I tried that yesterday and is hard to see.

So the inner typdef was strict, and that's why you couldn't edit it.  You had to open the inner typedef before you could edit it.

I really wish I had the X-ray vision of all of you to tell all that from a truncated picture. 😮

(I couldn't even tell of it shows the control editor or a front panel instance :D)
