Transparent Dialog String problem

I have an app written in LV 6.1 which features quite a few dialog strings on front panels , theese have their colour set to transparent , this makes the text appear as if it is directly on the panel but still lets me change it programatically. I have ported this app to LV 7.1 and my dialog strings now have a light blue border round them (XP) or appear recessed (NT/2000) and now don't look right.

Anybody have suggestions for how I can get the same affect in 7.1.

Basically I am looking for prgramatically controlable text on my front panel with no borders or recesses etc

Replace your string indicators (right-click>>replace) with the simple string indicator from the classic controls palette.
