The instruction at "0x%081x" referenced memory error

I loaded the 2 Device drivers and data acquisition CD's onto a computer. Then they were inadvertantly removed, via the control panel, remove programs.

Upon re-installation, the following pop up window said "The instruction at "0x%081x" referenced memory at "0x%081x". The memory could not be "%s"

After clicking OK the next window said "Setup.exe has generated errors and will be closed. You will need to restart the program. An error log has been created."

Is there something in the registry that may be fouled up?
