Terminal emulation

Hello,

what I what to program is some kind of a terminal emulation for the
PC's serial port (like the Windows' HyperTerm).

Yes I have already found the basic serial I/O functions. But does
anybody out there have an idea how to have both the users input any the
serial devices' response.

I want to do it in LabVIEW because I want to analyze both data streams
