Tel-x-ometer can't find computer

When I try to run the tel-x-ometer vi I get the error message:
LabView:  Manager call not supported.
VI "Tel-x-ometer v1.05.vi" was stopped at node 0x1d8 of subVI "In Port Old 6.x.vi"

If anyone knows how to fix this problem your help would be greatly appreciated.

You might at least mention where you got this VI.Smiley Wink Attaching it would have been even better.

The In Port/Out Port functions have undergone some changes over the years and the older versions could not be run on OS's like NT, 2K, and XP without some additional software. You might want to replace the 'Old' with the In Port on your palette and try that.

The Tel-X-Ometer x-ray machine is a popular

laboratory device for investigating a wide variety of phenomena

associated with the production, absorption, and scattering

of x-rays.

4,5 The automation of these experiments can

reduce significantly the amount of time spent by a student

performing routine data collection, as well as provide digitized

formats that lend themselves to easy display, analysis,

and comparison of data. Together, these enhancements of the

experiments enable students to focus more directly on the

physics of the investigation.

My professor gave me the VI and she wasn't able to get it to work either.  I am running Windows XP SP2.  I attached the vi.

Well, that was an exercise in futility. You didn't attach the subVIs so the VI is broken and when it finally finishes searching for subVIs that aren't there, the main screen appears with a copyright notice. Even if you had attached the subVIs, the main VI is password protected and there is no way to modify or even view the code. Your only option would be to contact the author.
