Tektronix TDS 784C Driver for LabVIEW 5

yes i installed the driver. i unzip it into the instr.lib folder right? im unable to find the functions avaible in the instrument driver palette. wat functions should it be? where can i download the VI that could perform it?

In the instr.lib folder, you should have a folder called _shared and a folder called tktds6xx. Do not unzip directly to the instr.lib folder. That would create a folder called tktds6xx with the _shared folder under that as well as another folder called tktds6xx. That will probably confuse LabVIEW and while you can fix it, it's easier to just place the subfolders directly under instr.lib.

alright. i think i found the VI for the measurements. thank you very much for the advice. it should be located in Functions>Programming>waveforms>analog waveforms>waveform measurements ... right? use all those to measure the peak, overshoot,rise time right?

You can use that if you don't want the scope to take the measurements for you. There is a function in the driver you downloaded called TKTDS 6xx Conf. Meas. If you decide to transfer the waveform to the pc, it would probably be faster to use the LabVIEW functions to operate on the waveform but you can compare the two different techniques to see which is better.

im able to use the measurements functions in LabVIEW examples. but the example just show it with a signal generator. but i want it to perform the measurements on the waveform on my scope. how am i able to transfer the waveform from my scope to my pc? which VI should i use?

Just look at the example for the driver. On the driver palette, there is a sub-palette called Application Examples.

It's part of the driver. If you installed it correctly, the path to the example VI is C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.2\instr.lib\tktds6xx\Tktds6xx.llb\TKTDS 6XX Getting Started.vi. And if you installed it correctly it will be on the Instrument I/>Instrument Drivers>Tektronix TDS 6xx DSOs>Application Examples palette.

If you do not have the palette and if the path to the VI does not exist, you should post an image of your Instrument I/O palette and  an image of your instr.lib\tktds6xx folder. Just use the 'Add Attachments' below the message body and post either png or jpg fils.

Hi, ive search for the application examples but it only showed me the following results
TKTDS 6XX Getting Started.vi Front Panel and
TKTDS 6XX Application Function.vi Front Panel which both under Functions>Instrument I/O>Instrument Drivers>Application Examples. is this it??
