Hi PavelRucka,
It it best to use the CompactFlash card provided with the TPC-2012 since that is guaranteed to work. The CompactFlash Storage Cartridges for the NI cFP-2020 have been used successfully as well. Other CF cards may or may not be compatible and would need to be tested. There is not a size limit, but a Type I card should be used. Windows CE does not support all CompactFlash products, but unfortunately I was unable to find any recommended cards for Windows CE 5.0, used by the TPC-2012, on Microsoft's website.

Hello Jennifer,
thank for your answer. When I looked to recommended cards for Windows CE 5.0 on Microsoft's website, I found only the ImageMate CF from Sandisk which could be use as cards Readers. I hope that TPC and CF card will work for long long time without any problems:-)
When I connect 2.5 in. HDD to TPC it will be slave device?
Regards,
Pavel Rucka.

Hi Pavel,
Yes, the hard drive will be a slave device.
I hope the CF and TPC-2012 work for you for a long time as well. Best of luck!

Hello Jennifer,
I have next question to you. We have some trouble with WinCE 5.0 stability in our TPC2012. When I click to start button and select same program, then I close the program and try to re-clik the strart button then system frozen and I must reboot TPC (some times some icons disappear from the screen).
We are only installed : NI shared variables support 8.5, NI TPC Service 1.0 and NI-Visa 4.2.
Could we re-install system? Is the system in the CF card or is on flash memory in device?
Could we install last WinCE 5.0 update? In device is last update 2006M09? Now are available winCE 5.0 product update rollup 2006 and 2007?
Best regards,
Pavel Rucka.

I found that system is unstable when I set:
strart -> settings -> taskbar and Start menu.. -> advanced -> Expand control panel (check).
If I un-check this options everything work fine.
Best regards,
Pavel Rucka.

Hi Pavel,
I'm glad you've found a workaround to prevent the TPC from freezing. To answer your earlier questions, Windows CE.Net 5.0 is on the CompactFlash card that was shipped with the TPC-2012. I'm unsure about updates to Windows CE 5.0, but there may be more information on Microsoft's website. If you would like to revert to the original image, you can contact National Instruments support and request the original image files.
