TDMS List Contents: group name is an empty string

Hi!

TDMS List Contents VI : if the input "group name" is not wired, VI returns an array of group names. In my application the first element of this array is an empty string. Is there any reason for this? Or my application creates erroneous TDMS files?

Hi Ljubo,

the empty group name is for the file. Why it is done like this i do not know.

When you only want the groups then you must skip the first element.

When you list the channels of a group, an empty string is returned too. This one is for the group itself.

In LabVIEW 2009 the empty string is no longer returned.
