Hey Guys,
Just a quick question about Labview student licensing. I have the 2010 student software pack and was wondering if its possible to install in on both a desktop and laptop at the same time with the same license.
All the best,
Tom

The general license agreement should have been included with the LabVIEW software. If you cannot find it, you can read it here: http://www.ni.com/legal/license. For the Student Edition License you can install it on up to 3 computers. This is the same as a regular "named" license for the non-student edition of LabVIEW.

Cheers, thanks for the info.

To activate the license, you have to send in the Computer ID and you get back an Activation code. If you tried to use this activation code on another computer, there would be a mismatch with the computer ID and it would not work. Talk to your NI sales rep and ask him if you can get two activation codes for the same license. I know that with a volume license agreement, they will let you put Labview on 3 different computers, as long as you use only one at a time. Of course you can only use one at a time, but it would be illegal for you to use one and your buddy to use the other at the same time.
Edit: I'm slow. Smerc beat me to the punch. I guess the 3 computer rule applies to all licenses, not just volume license. I still think you would have to get a separate activation code for each computer.

That is very helpful thanks, I have being having problems on my laptop with not being a able to activate the licenses. This explains why half my VI's don't work as you require activated toolboxes to have access to VI's.
Ill give NI a call tomorrow and sort out more keys.
All the best,
Tom
