Strange Error

Am getting a strange message when trying to run a task in VI Logger. Everything has been freshly installed (VILogger 1.0.2, LabVIEW 7, NI-DAQ 7.1, WinXP, etc.) and configured. The error comes up immediately on task start. The exact error message reads:

VILogger Execution Error: Could not start task: Test
Error -2147024809 occured at an unidentified location.
Possible reason(s):
LabVIEW: (Hex 0x0x80070057) One or more arguments are invalid.

This is a new one to me. Any thoughts?

- Jim

P.S.: I realize that this isn't a LabVIEW question per se, but no other category seemed to fit.

Hello,

This is indeed a strange error. It seems to me that it is probably an installation issue.

Have you tried to install this software on another computer to see if you can reproduce the error?

What was the order of installation that you used?

Have you tried uninstalling VI Logger and reinstalling it?

Thanks,

Haven't tried a reinstall, and I'm afraid I don't remember the order of installation. Didn't know that it was important. Here's what I need to install:

LabVIEW 7
VILogger 1.0.2
NI-DAQ 7.1

What order should I use? THX.

At this point I would use Add/Remove programs to remove all National Instruments software. Then I would manually delete the National Instruments folder from C:\Program Files. I would then reboot and install LabVIEW 7.0 followed by NI-DAQ 7.1 followed by VILogger 1.0.2.

After the fresh installation, let us know if you are still seeing the same issue.
