Hello Tia,

I have created an example that will help you save that data with the time and date and also append the data to a file. I would walk through this example so you understand how it works before trying to implement this in your code. I hope this helps.

I think the example James provided is intended as a demonstration of how to get started, but implementing the Keithley drivers is a task that rests on the developer. If you run into problems as you go, feel free to create posts about them and the community will probably offer whatever insight it can. Good luck and happy coding!

Those screen colors are giving me a headache!

You have a button on there for Appending data or not.  It is currently set to true.  But the button is hidden on your front panel.  Why?

You are not going to have any header information in your file unless you do another Write to spreadsheet file that puts in the header information on the first run of the program.  I don't know what you mean by "not clear what is input or output".

Thanks for your reply.

Ya i hide that button because i do not want to see it in front panel. But my question was not this...  if you look at the

program, there is an option to choose name..i want to know how can data be overwriten if user give the same name..

Thanks

Look on the File I/O palette, especially the Advanced File functions.  There is a VI called Check if File exists.  That will see if the file exists.  If it does, then use a Two Button Dialog out of the dialog and user interface palette to ask the user if they want to overwrite or append.

You shouldn't have a control on the front panel that can't be seen.  If you don't want to see it, then you should have coded it with a constant, or without the case structure at all.

Thanks for help...

I am trying another write to spreadsheet.vi for the header of the file..

but this header is coming like this in the text file. i just want voltage or current on top of the file..

voltage    current
0.000    0.000
voltage    current
0.100    -0.000
voltage    current
0.200    -0.000
voltage    current
0.300    -0.001
voltage    current
0.000    0.000
voltage    current
0.100    -0.000
voltage    current
0.200    -0.000
voltage    current

and if i am making append false than it is showing only last value:

voltage    current
1.000    0.082

But i want to store all values in the file

Please help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Tia,

don't write the header in the loop. When you only need it once, then write it before the loop...

I also changed the way of building a filename. Use real path controls for that purpose!
