Specifying DDE-Topics

Hi folks,

I need to write a Windows-application that communicates over DDE with
LabVIEW. I'm not interested in any topic negotiations, though.
On the LabVIEW side, however, I always have to specify a topic to make
the DDE-VIs execute properly... .

Can I establish a DDE connection from LabVIEW without specifying topics
or do I have to add a "dummy-topic" in my windows app ?
