Software Question

Dear All,

I am using...
Labview 7.1                           ~  Activated
Vision Assistant                    ~  For Evaluation only before 23/2/2008
IMAQ USB Camera drive      ~  Installed

while i was installing the IMAQ USB Camera drive, the software was calling me to install Vision Assistant fristly. I followed this guideline and I installed a trial version of Vision Assistant.
Anyone know that can i still use the usb camera  after 23/2/2008 because I have programmed a usb camera function on the labview.

Thank you ALL!

Hello Kim.

Maybe I am in wrong but I think if your program uses Vision Assistant when it will be expired, your program should stop running.
I advice to call NI to be sure about this answer.

Best Regards.

Dear R_Duval,

Thanks your reply.

I have sent a mail to NI engineer and waiting feedback. If my labview program only use IMAQ camera funcion, can it still be used? I have not used or linked  VISION ASSISTANT in my labview. The installing reason of Vision anssistant just reach the basic install requirment of IMAQ camera.

Thabk you

Hello Kim,

As your LabVIEW code does not use/call Vision Assistant, there should be no problems running it after the the trial version expires.

Hello Vivek_N,

Thank you for your reply. I still have a question.
is "IMAQ camera funcion" a part/function of Vision Assistant? Because it mentioned that i must installed Vision before the installation of IMAQ camera funcion.

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Kim Ho

Hello kim515,

I am not too sure I understood what you meant by the 'IMAQ camera function'. The 'IMAQ for USB' functions in LabVIEW are not a part of the Vision Assistant. Vision Assistant is a completely separate utility which can be called from LabVIEW if needed. You should be able to run your program which only uses the IMAQ functions.

I hope this answers your question.
