Slow response in GPIB

RE: Slow response in GPIB Waveform Chart.

I have been using LabView to monitor two measurement instruments through
GPIB; i.e. cascade two GPIB to the pc.

My application simply displays the waveform chart from one of the
instrument, using the downloaded instrument driver from NI, and displays the
measurement values from the second instrument, using the GPIB write to issue
the write command and GPIB read to read the values.

Question:

If I run my application and retrieving data from both instruments, the
response of the waveform is very slow, compare with when I disable the GPIB
write and GPIB read of the second instrument.

Note: The second instrument does not have the NI driver because it is an
in-house developed instrument.

Your advice is much appreciated.

Hello:

How fast is it when you disable the NI-GPIB device and run your second instrument with GPIB write and read? If this is fast you might consider changing the structure/flow of your LabVIEW code. Do you think there is a conflict between the 2 GPIB drivers? The drivers that we have only support our GPIB boards.

-NI Support.
