Simulate Keystrokes from LabVIEW 5.1

Hello!

Has anyone used LabVIEW to send keystroke data to an open application in
another NT window?
I have launched the application with System Exec but it requires an occasional
keystroke (F1) before it completes. The program is designed to run interactively
in a DOS window and does so flawlessly until it needs the first keyboard
entry.
I seem to recall VB has such a feature.
