Set active cursor position

I think the problem may not be with the code but with the cursor properties. If you have it set to snap to a plot, then when you try to set it the cursor will snap to the x-position of the nearest point on the plot and you will read back a value different than what you set. If you have the cursor set to "free" then you should read back exactly what you set. The cursor properties are set

I can't test your code because it is too complicated and I don't have all the parts needed to run it. Can you make a simplified example to demonstrate the behavior and post that?
