Serial Acquisition

Hi,
I need to develope a PDA application where the PDA acquires the data from a serial instrument, performs some statistical analysis  an sends the results to a workstation PC via bluetooth. Is it possible to use some kind of usb-sd /rs232 on the PDA?

thanks in advance

Hello Fabrizio,

Here is some info. that can help explain connecting to a Windows
Mobile PDA

Depending on the device, you can have multiple serial rs232 options.

Hope this helps. 🙂

Hello Fabrizio,

take a look to this document which deals with serial communication and PDA module:

How Do I Use Serial Communication On My PDA?

Hope this helps,

Thanks Fabio, I am happy to see that the serial communication is actually supported by Labview PDA, unfortunately CF-serial cards are no longer supported by the gratest part of PDAs...
I hope to find a serial cable for  my PDA otherwise I must wait for someone that build a SD-serial card...

What PDA are you using?  I have successfully and (relatively) easily implemented both serial and bluetooth communications using the HP 2790.  You might have to make a custom cable or something along those lines ...
